TIPS FOR GETTING STARTED

So you've made the decision to build the home of your dreams, but you're not sure where or how to get started. You can search houseplanSTOP's inventory of house plans several ways depending on where you are in the process of picking the style, the size, and the amenities.

BASIC SEARCH

If you have only a general idea of what you might like in your home, you can access our Basic Plan Search found right on our home page and at the top left of every other page. With a Basic search, you can begin looking at many styles of house plans that have the limited features you've selected. These house plans will be listed from smallest square footage to largest within the parameters you have chosen, but they will not be sorted by any particular style. If this search results in too many house plans for you to look through, you may want to narrow your search by using our Advanced Search Form. A hot link to our Advanced Search is located on the Basic Search form on both the home page and all secondary pages at the left.

ADVANCED SEARCH

If you know exactly what you want, or if you want to narrow your Basic Search down further, our Advanced Search form offers you many different options so that you can search for just those house plans that match the specific criteria you've selected. The more choices you select on the form, the better and smaller your results list will be.

Finally, you can select a particular style of home listed at the right side of every page and begin searching that way. Here, the house plans will be sorted not only by style, but also by size from smallest to largest.
